WFU Awards 1997 Reynolds Scholarships

Six high school seniors have received Nancy S. Reynolds Scholarships to attend Wake Forest University.

The 1997 winners of the scholarships, among the most selective merit-based awards in the United States, are: Melissa Shields of Charlotte, N.C.; Stephen Caldwell of West Chester, Pa.; Daniel Durand of Shoreham, N.Y.; Jacob Kline of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; Somya Tariyal of Doraville, Ga.; and Alan Trammell of Chester, Va.

The four-year scholarship, estimated at $121,000, provides tuition, room and board, personal expenses and funds for summer research and overseas study.

Wake Forest is currently ranked among the nation’s 25 best colleges and universities by U.S. News & World Report magazine in its 1997 college guide.
