Wake Forest Enrolls Three Tandy Scholars

Three Wake Forest University freshmen are among 100 students across the country named Tandy Technology Scholars.

Michele Alesia Johnson of Rutherfordton, N.C.; Sarah Holland Rackley of Charleston, S.C.; and Dan Durand of Shoreham, N.Y., were selected from a pool of 8,000 nominees with outstanding achievements in mathematics, science and computer science. The average SAT for the group of 100 scholars is 1475.

The Tandy Corporation sponsors the technology scholars program to recognize academic excellence and to advance technology in the United States. Only four schools nationwide — Harvard, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Princeton and Stanford — enrolled more Tandy scholars than Wake Forest.
