WFU to Present Tenor’s Senior Recital

Wake Forest University’s music department will present a senior recital featuring tenor Chris Yorro.

From sacred songs by Bach to secular Broadway tunes, Yorro will sing at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 19, in Scales Fine Arts Center’s Brendle Recital Hall.

“Domine Deus” from Bach’s “Mass in B minor” and “Not While I’m Around” from the musical “Sweeney Todd” are among the featured selections.

Yorro will be accompanied by pianists Thomas C. Turnbull, violinist Robert Shaw and soprano Amy Bassett.

A music major, Yorro played Tony in Wake Forest University Theater’s production of “West Side Story” in 1997. He is a student of Richard Heard, assistant professor of music at Wake Forest.

Admission is free. For information, call (336) 758-5026.
