Professor to Offer Pre-concert Lecture on Russian Music

Peter Kairoff, Wake Forest University associate professor of music, will present a lecture titled “The Russian Musical Language” immediately before the Russian State Symphony Orchestra’s performance at Wake Forest University on Sunday, Feb. 7.

The 2:15 p.m. lecture in the balcony room of Wait Chapel will focus on the music of Prokofiev, Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff, which will be performed during the 3 p.m. concert.

The lecture will be geared toward a general audience and is free and open to the public. Tickets to the Secrest Artists Series presentation of the Russian State Symphony Orchestra featuring violinist Vladimir Spivakov will be available at the door.
