WFU’s WFDD adds two reporters to staff

Larry Schooler and Renee Boyd have joined the news staff of WFDD (88.5 FM) as general assignment reporters. WFDD is Wake Forest University’s public radio station.

Schooler serves as the radio station’s local host for National Public Radio’s “All Things Considered.” He and Boyd prepare local news reports for broadcast during that program and NPR’s “Morning Edition.”

Boyd joined the staff of WFDD after serving as editor of the Weekly Independent, a community newspaper in Rural Hall. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. While in college, she interned at television station WFMY in Greensboro.

Schooler graduated from Yale University. While in college he worked with Connecticut Public Radio. He has served as an intern and production assistant at public radio station WNYC in New York City and as an intern at public radio station KUHF radio in Houston.

WFDD broadcasts classical music, NPR news, and other programming. The oldest NPR station in North Carolina, WFDD has 90,000 listeners in 32 counties.
