WFU’s gospel choir to showcase Kirk Franklin works at Sunday afternoon concert

The public is invited to attend the annual “Fall Extravaganza” concert by the Wake Forest University Gospel Choir Sunday, Nov. 5, at 3 p.m. The performance in Brendle Recital Hall is free.

At the Nov. 5 concert, Director Stacy Smallwood will lead the group in the performance of works by popular gospel composer Kirk Franklin and other favorite composers from the genre.

The Gospel Choir has been an active member of the university community for 31 years. The group performs two concerts on-campus annually – one in the fall and another in the spring. It also gives a performance tour during spring break each year.

The group released a CD in the spring of 2000 and will release another in the spring of 2001. The new album will be a collection of original songs written by choir members.
