Banks named station manager at public radio station WFDD

A former publisher of the Asheville Citizen-Times, Banks earned a bachelor’s degree and a master of business administration degree from Wake Forest.

Banks’ initial ties to WFDD date to his high school and college years, when he worked at the station.

During his career, Banks has been president or chair of a number of civic and industry organizations, including the Asheville Chamber of Commerce, the Asheville United Way, and the North Carolina Press Association. He also served on the board of trustees at the University of North Carolina at Asheville.
