Graylyn International Conference Center joins IACC, wins top industry awards

Graylyn International Conference Center was recently honored with induction into one of the meeting and conference industry’s most prestigious organizations and recognized with three of the industry’s top awards for 2001.

Graylyn, which is owned and managed by Wake Forest University, is now a member of the International Association of Conference Centers of North America.

The conference center was also awarded the Stars of the South Award from Meetings South magazine for the second consecutive year, the Gold Key Award from Meetings & Conventions magazine for the fourth consecutive year, and the Award of Excellence from Corporate & Incentive Travel magazine for the 12th year.

“To continually be recognized in this way by the industry is a wonderful compliment to the staff here at Graylyn,” said General Manager Troy Grooms. “Membership in the IACC will assure that that commitment to quality will continue.”

Graylyn opened as a conference center in Winston-Salem in 1984. Wake Forest took over management of the facility on July 1. The university has spent more than $2.5 million in improvements to Graylyn, including renovations to rooms in the Manor House and The Mews, new landscaping, parking lot repaving, and several recent multimedia updates to conference and seminar rooms. All renovations and updates are scheduled to be complete by February.
