Wake Forest University jazz ensemble to perform

The Wake Forest University Jazz Ensemble will present a concert at 8 p.m. April 18 in Brendle Recital Hall.

The concert will open with Duke Ellington’s “C Jam Blues,” followed by “Kansas City” by composers Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. Also featured will be pieces by Jerry Nowak, Sammy Nestico and John Berry. Guest artist, Jacqui Carrasco, will accompany “Birth of the Blues” on the violin. The performance will conclude with “Until I Met You” by Don Wolf and Freddy Greene and “Sandunga” by Arturo Sandoval.

Patrick Tucker, adjunct instructor of music at Wake Forest, conducts the jazz ensemble.
