Sound clips from Senator John McCain’s speech to be available on Wake Forest Web Site
Broadcast-quality sound clips from U.S. Senator John McCain’s commencement address at Wake Forest University on May 20 will be available for radio stations to download that afternoon.
The Wake Forest News Service will post several sound clips from McCain’s speech on the News Service Web site, www.wfu.edu/wfunews. The clips will be in .wav format, and will be available by 2 p.m. May 20.
McCain, U.S. senator from Arizona and decorated Navy veteran, will deliver Wake Forest’s 160th commencement address and receive an honorary doctor of laws degree during the ceremony. Approximately 1,521 undergraduate and graduate students will receive diplomas at the 9 a.m. outdoor ceremony on University Plaza.
A special presentation will be made during the ceremony to an officer from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey who was one of the first responding officers to the World Trade Center on Sept. 11. Sound clips from this presentation may also be available.
