WFU’s Graylyn International Conference Center wins top industry awards

Graylyn International Conference Center has been awarded two of the industry’s top meeting and conference awards for 2002.

Graylyn, which is owned and operated by Wake Forest University, won the prestigious Gold Key Award presented by Meetings & Conventions magazine for the third year in a row. The winners of this award are nominated and selected by the magazine’s readership of 70,000 subscribers. Criteria for the award include staff attitude, proficiency of handling reservations, availability of technical and support equipment and range of recreational facilities.

All Gold Key Award winners will be featured in Meeting & Conventions’ Gold Awards issue in November 2002. Winners also receive an invitation to the Gold Awards ceremony and the magazine’s 25th anniversary celebration in New York on Nov. 8.

Graylyn also received one of the 18th annual Pinnacle Awards given out by Successful Meetings magazine. For this award, more than 75,000 meeting, incentive travel, and convention planners were asked to select sites and destinations based on the quality of the facilities and services they offer. As a winner in the conference center category, Graylyn will have a chance to be featured in the 2002 Pinnacle Award Directory in July as well as on the Successful Meetings Web site for one year.

Graylyn opened in 1984 and was inducted into the International Association of Conference Centers of North America in 2001.
