Graduate student reports armed robbery on campus

A female graduate student at Wake Forest University was robbed at gunpoint March 4 in a university parking lot.

The student, who was not injured, told Wake Forest police that she was standing outside her car at 9:50 a.m. in Parking Lot Q when a masked man armed with a pistol approached her and took her purse and car. The vehicle is described as a white 1993 Lincoln Town Car, North Carolina license plate number PSF9760.

She told police that she had just parked her car in the lot, next to an area covered with trees. The lot is next to Scales Fine Arts Center.

The woman told police that the incident took only a couple of minutes before the man, wearing a ski mask and dark clothes, fled in her car. She described him as black, 20-28 years old, 180 pounds, and six feet tall.

The woman immediately contacted Wake Forest police, who also alerted area law enforcement agencies. University police investigators are working with Winston-Salem police on the case.
