Award-winning Christian rock artists to perform at WFU

Jars of ClayChristian rock groups Jars of Clay and Caedmon’s Call will perform April 2 at 7 p.m. in Wait Chapel at Wake Forest University. The doors open at 6 p.m. The concert is sponsored by the Wake Forest Student Union.

The groups began their college tour Feb. 12 on the heels of the Feb. 4 release of “Furthermore—From the Studio: From the Stage,” Jars of Clay’s fifth major label release. The double album is a collection of Jars of Clay favorites comprised of one live disc and one studio disc, featuring a total of 21 cuts.

Furthermore CD coverSince their start in 1994, Jars of Clay has enjoyed a multi-platinum earning, multi-Grammy winning career. The group most recently received a Grammy for their 2002 album, “The Eleventh Hour.” “Furthermore” debuted in the top five on both SoundScan’s top Christian album sales chart and top mainstream album sales chart. Known for their impressive grassroots following, Caedmon’s Call’s first national, self-titled release set a record for the most units sold in its first week by a debut contemporary Christian artist. The album was also ranked number one on the Billboard Heatseekers Album Chart. Since then, the band has earned an album of the year Dove Award, a Billboard music video award nomination, six number one singles and record-breaking sales.
