“The Servant of Two Masters” to conclude theater season at WFU

The Wake Forest University Theatre will close the 2002-2003 season with Carlo Goldoni’s “The Servant of Two Masters” beginning April 4. Performances will be held in the MainStage Theatre of the Scales Fine Arts Center April 4 and April 5 and April 9 through April 12 at 7:30 p.m., as well as April 13 at 2 p.m.

Written by a master of 18th century comedy, the Italian “The Servant of Two Masters” focuses on a wily but out of work servant named Truffaldino. Truffaldino gets lucky by landing two jobs in the same day and comedy results as he works incognito as a servant to two separated lovers.

James Dodding, adjunct professor of theatre, will direct the production; Wake Forest senior Susan Martin will assist him. The cast will include Wake Forest freshmen Joe Martinez, Nemanja Savic and Zach Tysinger; sophomores Matt Gutschick and Madeline Smith; juniors Scotty Candler, Joey Picard and George Graves; seniors Cary Donaldson, Katie Henderson, Melissa Jones, Kate Lambert, Kate Roberts and Sarah Wynne; and first-year Divinity School student Brad Stephenson.
