Martha Barnett receives honorary degree from WFU
Martha W. Barnett, partner in the law firm Holland & Knight and chair of the firm’s directors’ committee, received an honorary doctor of laws degree at Wake Forest University’s commencement ceremony May 19. Approximately 170 law students graduated during the ceremony.
Barnett delivered the address for the Wake Forest School of Law’s hooding ceremony May 18 in the university’s Wait Chapel.
Barnett, former president of the American Bar Association, was the first woman chair of the association’s House of Delegates. She currently chairs Holland & Knight’s Integrated Security Strategies Initiative and is the immediate past chair of the firm’s Public Law Department.
Barnett is a graduate of Tulane University and the University of Florida.
