WFU offers new daily shuttle service

Wake Forest University will offer continuous daily shuttle service on the Reynolda Campus for all students, faculty and staff during the spring semester 2004. The University Police shuttle has expanded its shuttle operation to include 7 a.m. to 6:10 p.m. Monday through Friday. The program will be evaluated at the end of the semester to determine whether it will be permanent.

The bus makes its first pickup at 7 a.m. in the Meadows Parking Lot of Reynolda Village and makes nine additional stops along its route, including the Student Drive Parking Lot; the satellite parking lot on Long Drive across from First Assembly of God Church; the Information Systems Building; the Worrell Professional Center; Greene Hall; Tribble Hall; Winston Hall; Lot C, in front of the Benson University Center; and Lot A, on the west side of Wait Chapel. The route runs every 40 minutes with the exception of a 70-minute break between 12:30 p.m. and 1:40 p.m.

One complete bus loop takes approximately 40 minutes and the last stop is at 6:10 p.m. in Lot A. Night shuttle service will continue to operate as it has in the past from 6 p.m. to 3 a.m., seven days a week. A copy of the shuttle schedule will be available at the Parking Management office in the H.S. Moore Building, the University Police Communications Center in Davis Residence Hall and will soon be available on the Web.

Wake Forest University Chief of Police Regina Lawson said the new daily shuttle service is a joint effort between University Police and Student Government.
