Violinist Morgan Brubaker, a Wake Forest University freshman, won fourth place in the 27th annual Christopher Giles and Lucille S. Harris Competitions in Musical Performance Feb. 28 at Wake Forest.
Brubaker, a graduate of Hempfield High School in Landisville, is the daughter of Roger and Donna Brubaker of Lancaster.
Twenty-one Wake Forest University students performed in the competition, which was established by Paul and Sara Sinal to honor Christopher Giles, who taught piano at Wake Forest for 37 years before his death in 1996, and retired piano instructor Lucille S. Harris.
Eighteen students competed in the open competition by performing selections of their choice on various instruments.
