Expert on African-American women to speak at WFU
Marlese Durr, an associate professor of sociology and anthropology at Wright State University, will speak on “Inner-City African-American Women’s Adolescence as Stressful Life Events” at Wake Forest University at 4 p.m. Feb. 21. The lecture will be held in Greene Hall, Room 162. Following the lecture, a reception will be held in Carswell Hall’s Reading Room.
Durr, who specializes in work and occupations, race and labor markets, and African American women, is also president of Sociologists for Women in Society, an international organization of social scientists who work to improve the position of women within sociology and society in general.
The lecture is sponsored by Wake Forest’s women’s and gender studies program, American ethnic studies program and Office of Multicultural Affairs.
