Arnold Palmer sound bites available from WFU commencement address
Broadcast-quality sound clips from golf legend and Wake Forest alumnus Arnold Palmer’s May 16 commencement address at Wake Forest University will be available for radio stations to download and broadcast that afternoon. The ceremony begins at 9 a.m.
The Wake Forest News Service will post several sound clips from Palmer’s speech on the News Service Web site, www.wfu.edu/wfunews. The clips will be in .wav format and will be available by noon.
Palmer is scheduled to address approximately 1,450 undergraduate and graduate students during the 9 a.m. outdoor ceremony on Wake Forest’s Thomas K. Hearn Jr. Plaza (the Quad).
The graduation ceremony will be Thomas K. Hearn Jr.’s last as president of Wake Forest. Hearn, one of the longest serving university presidents in the nation, will retire June 30 after 22 years as president of the university.
Sound clips will not be available if inclement weather forces the relocation of the commencement ceremonies to the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
