Pick the best football movies

November 30 marks the 40th anniversary of the release of Brian’s Song. The 1971 movie first aired on ABC and starred James Caan as Wake Forest alumnus Brian Piccolo and Billy Dee Williams as pro football hall of famer Gale Sayers. The Emmy-winning movie was such a success on television that it was later released in theaters. Disney remade the movie in 2001 starring Sean Maher and Mekhi Phifer.

Wake Forest is one of two schools* to have three major motion pictures based on its football players or program: Brian’s Song in 1971 and 2001 and The 5th Quarter in 2011. With this distinction, Wake Forest students, alumni and fans are uniquely qualified to pick the top 10 football movies of all time. Give us your choices below. (Voting ends Nov. 29, and results will be announced on Nov. 30.)

* The other is Notre Dame with Knute Rockne All American in 1940, Fighting Back in 1980 and Rudy in 1993.
