Free portrait event to honor W-S/Forsyth County first responders

Ambulances at an emergency room hospital entrance

Wake Forest University and professional photographers from the University Photographers’ Association of America (UPAA) will be offering free individual or family portraits to Winston-Salem/Forsyth County first responders.

The event will be held Wednesday, June 20 from noon to 5 p.m. at Wake Forest University’s Sutton Center.

Local paramedics, firefighters, police and emergency personnel must sign up in advance at go.wfu.edu/firstresponder by Tuesday, June 19.

The event is not open to the general public. Media are welcome to attend.

“This is an opportunity for Wake Forest and UPAA photographers to recognize and thank emergency personnel who are first to arrive on the scene and assist victims in the most challenging and stressful of situations,” said Wake Forest University Photographer Ken Bennett.

UPAA photographers, image techs and lighting designers will work together to produce a finished print for each participant on site. Uniforms are optional.

The event is being held in conjunction with the 2018 UPAA Symposium to be held at Wake Forest June 18-22.
