Undergraduate Research Day, held during Family Weekend, showcased projects by more than 150 students who conducted original scholarship in collaboration with faculty mentors.

Research Day is sponsored by the Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities Center (URECA), which promotes and celebrates mentored scholarship.

“This year, there was a broad range of projects, ranging from understanding the painted landscapes of Klimt and extending accessibility to theatrical presentations to applying math to real
world problems and optimizing DNA methylation screens,” said Wayne Pratt, director of URECA and professor of psychology. “The scholarship presented by the students was a diverse representation of inquiry across all the liberal arts.”

Students presented their work on Oct. 7 in the Health and Exercise Science Clinical Research Center.
