Russell Brantley will read from his book of poetry, “Fetch-Life,” Nov. 15 at 4 p.m. in the Z. Smith Reynolds Library at Wake Forest University. A book signing following the reading will benefit the library.
Copies of the poetry collection will be available at the reading in exchange for a $25 tax-deductible donation to the Z. Smith Reynolds Library. Copies may also be purchased in advance at the College Book Store and left there to be signed by the author.
Brantley has been associated with Wake Forest for most of his life. He was the university’s director of communication from 1953 to 1987, and taught several courses. He has also been a consultant for three university presidents, including Thomas K. Hearn Jr., Wake Forest’s president since 1983.
Before coming to Wake Forest, Brantley worked for the Associated Press and for newspapers.
In addition to “Fetch-Life,” Brantley has published a novel, “The Education of Jonathan Beam.”
