WFU Environmental Justice Summit brings key issues to forefront

Wake Forest University is preparing to welcome several national, state and local experts to campus for the 2024 Mellon Environmental and Epistemic Justice Summit. The full-day program will take place on April 24 from 9 a.m.-6:30 p.m. at the Broyhill Auditorium in Farrell Hall. The free event is open to the public. The goal of the program is to bring various perspectives together for a deeper understanding of environmental issues facing underrepresented communities, share ideas, help find solutions and inspire grassroots efforts.

The ‘switch cost’ of multitasking

Psychology professor Anthony Sali Multitasking is the act of performing multiple tasks or activities simultaneously or near-simultaneously. However, studies in cognitive psychology suggest that true simultaneous multitasking is unlikely. Instead, our brains are switching between tasks. And it has a cost.

Wake Forest Students Decorate Desks for Children

A Wake Forest University practice field will soon be transformed into an outdoor art studio to create personalized study spaces for kids. It’s part of an education initiative called Developing Education through Student Knowledge or DESK. This year’s event will be held on Thursday, April 11 from 3-6 p.m. on Davis Field.
