Illness Cancels Ravi Shankar Concert

Ravi Shankar, who has popularized Indian music around the world, will not perform a concert that had been scheduled for tonight (March 21) at Wake Forest University. The concert was canceled after the university learned Shankar had become suddenly ill.

Shankar was admitted to Bowman Gray/Baptist Hospital Medical Center in Winston-Salem early today. He is under close observation and is undergoing tests.

The Secrest Artists Series Concert was scheduled for 8 p.m. in Wait Chapel.
