Irish poet to give reading at Wake Forest University

Irish poet Ciaran Carson will read poetry at Wake Forest University on Thursday, Nov. 5, at 7:30 p.m.

The free event will be held in Carswell Hall’s second floor reading room.

A native of Belfast, Carson has published several award-winning books of poetry, including “Belfast Confetti” in 1989 and “First Language” in 1993.

The Irish Literary supplement said he has “one of the most gifted imaginations in contemporary poetry.”

Carson’s books of poetry are published in North America by the Wake Forest University Press.
