Media invited to cover Multicultural Male Summit with Cornel West, Sandra Guzman

The media is invited to cover the Multicultural Male Summit at Wake Forest University April 12-13. The summit is for 150 minority male students at North Carolina universities and is sponsored by the Wake Forest Office of Multicultural Affairs. Complete details, including a schedule of events, were distributed in a previous news release that is available online at www.wfu.edu/wfunews.

Speakers will include Sandra Guzman, former editor of Latina magazine and an Emmy Award-winning journalist; author Cornel West, professor of Afro-American studies at Harvard University; Dr. Illya Wilkerson, an internist with Greensboro Medical Associates; Duane Davis, founder of the Coalition of Black Investors; Eric Watts, assistant professor of communication at Wake Forest; and Jeff Yang, founder of A. Magazine.

The events with Guzman and West are open to the public. Television cameras may be set up in the rear section of Benson University Center’s Pugh Auditorium during Guzman’s program, and on the stairways along the sides of Wait Chapel during West’s address.

Guzman will be available for scheduled interviews through prior arrangement with the News Service. Guzman will be available at 7:30 p.m. on April 12 only.
