Anthropologist to discuss Ethiopian fossils at WFU

David S. WeaverDavid S. Weaver, professor emeritus of anthropology at Wake Forest University, will give a lecture titled “Fossil Hunting in Ethiopia” March 19 at 7:30 p.m. in the university’s Museum of Anthropology. The event is free and open to the public.

Weaver is a physical anthropologist specializing in the evolutionary history, development and treatment of human bone diseases. He retired from Wake Forest in 2002.

While at Wake Forest, he had a joint appointment in the department of pathology at the Wake Forest School of Medicine. He was also director of the university’s physical anthropology laboratory, which houses a large collection of non-human primate skeletons intended for research use.
