WFU promotes Cherin Poovey to assistant vice president

Wake Forest University has promoted Cherin C. Poovey to assistant vice president for university advancement. She will also continue as director of creative services.

Poovey joined Wake Forest’s Reynolda Campus staff in 1987. Prior to that she worked in public relations and marketing at Wake Forest School of Medicine on the university’s Bowman Gray Campus, and as a writer and copy editor for the Winston-Salem Journal and the Hickory Daily Record.

She is a 1974 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she earned a bachelor of arts degree in journalism.
