Faculty receive teaching, research awards at WFU Convocation

Several teaching and research awards were presented to Wake Forest University faculty during Founders’ Day Convocation Feb. 19. The presentations were made during an 11 a.m. ceremony in the university’s Wait Chapel, featuring a keynote speech by best-selling author and Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Anna Quindlen.

The Kulynych Family Omicron Delta Kappa Award for Contribution to Student Life was presented to James Cotter, associate professor of business in the Calloway School of Business and Accountancy.

The Award for Excellence in Research was presented to Clifford Zeyl, associate professor of biology.

The Reid-Doyle Prize for Excellence in Teaching was awarded to Hugh Howards, associate professor of mathematics.

Michael Green, the Bess and Walter Williams Distinguished Chair in Law, was awarded the Joseph Branch Excellence in Teaching Award.

Michelle Roehm, associate professor of marketing, and Michael Lord, associate professor of management, were presented the Cowan Faculty Research Prize.

The Kienzle Teaching Award was presented to Ram Baliga, the John B. McKinnon Professor of Management.
