Advisory: Media arrangements for WFU commencement with Arnold Palmer
Members of the media are invited to attend Wake Forest University’s commencement ceremony May 16, featuring golf legend and Wake Forest alumnus Arnold Palmer as speaker. Palmer’s speech is titled “Making a Difference.”
The outdoor ceremony will begin at 9 a.m. on Thomas K. Hearn Jr. Plaza (the Quad). The event is not open to the public and parking passes will be required to enter campus. If your staff has not already received parking passes and lanyard media passes, contact the News Service to request them. All members of the media are also asked to carry their own media credentials.
Reporters and crews are encouraged to arrive early to secure parking. University Police will direct media vehicles to reserved media parking in Parking Lot B, between Taylor and Davis residence halls on the Reynolda Road (west) side of campus. Overflow media parking will be on the adjacent Davis Field. Members of the media should enter the Quad through the access point from Parking Lot B. The lanyard media passes and credentials should be displayed at all times during the ceremony. Reserved media seating will be in the front row to the right of the stage.
In case of rain, the commencement ceremony will be moved to Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum and begin at 9:30 a.m. Media will be notified by early morning May 16 if the rain plan is put into effect. Media can use the same parking pass for reserved parking in the east parking lot at the coliseum. Media passes and credentials will be checked at the east doors of the coliseum. Reserved media seating will be to the left of the stage.
