In observance of Constitution Day, the Wake Forest University School of Law will hold a panel discussion titled “First Amendment Freedoms During Times of Crisis” at noon Sept. 21 in the Worrell Professional Center, Room 1312. The event is free and open to the public.
The discussion will include examples of significant national security issues from U.S. history, including the 9/11 terrorist attack. The panel will be made up of Michael Kent Curtis, Robert Chesney and Wilson Parker, all members of the Wake Forest School of Law faculty.
Constitution Day was founded by Louise Leigh and has been celebrated for the past eight years. Last year, President George W. Bush signed into law Public Law 108-447, which established September 17 as Constitution Day and requests an educational program pertaining to the U.S. Constitution in all federally-funded institutions.
