Advisory: Bernice King to Speak at Wake Forest University

Bernice King, the daughter of Martin Luther King Jr., will speak at Wake Forest University at 7 p.m. Jan. 16 in Wait Chapel as part of a week-long celebration of the civil rights leader’s legacy sponsored by Wake Forest and Winston-Salem State University.

Media are invited to attend the event. The event is free and open to the public.

King will not be available for interviews.

This is the fifth year Wake Forest has collaborated with Winston-Salem State to present a series of events surrounding Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The two schools have a joint planning committee and the schools alternate hosting the shared celebration.

Media seating is reserved in the first row on the far right side of Wait Chapel. Cameras may set up along the right stairway and balcony. Media needing audio of the event should arrive at the chapel no later than 6:45 p.m.

A reception and booksigning will follow the event.
