Media Adivsory: Wake Forest offers reward for information about hit-and-run incident on campus

The Wake Forest University Police Department is offering a reward for information that results in identifying the vehicle, driver or passengers involved in a hit-and-run incident in which a woman was injured and hospitalized.

The incident occurred Dec. 8, when a light-colored vehicle struck Collen Brehm as she attempted to walk across Wake Forest Road near the University’s Wait Chapel.  A witness told police that a driver and passengers were in the car, which initially slowed and then drove away after hitting the woman.  At least one passenger was female, a witness told investigators.

The unidentified vehicle had pulled out of Parking Lot Q and turned onto Wake Forest Road when it hit Brehm.  Afterward, the vehicle was driven on Wake Forest Road toward Wake Forest’s University Parkway entrance.

Brehm was released from a hospital following treatment for her injuries.  She is an employee of Aramark Campus Dining Services.

Initially, University Police announced the vehicle appeared to be a white SUV, but investigators now are generally describing it as light colored and shaped similar to an SUV.

Information about the case may be called into University Police at 911 from a campus phone and 336-758-5911 from a cell phone.  A person may also use University Police’s Silent Witness web site at https://www.wfu.edu/police/form-silent-witness.php. In order to receive the reward, the caller must provide information on how they may be contacted.
