MBA team finishes second in national competition

A team of MBA students from Wake Forest University’s Babcock Graduate School of Management claimed second place and the $1,000 prize in the 1996 KPMG Peat Marwick/George Washington University MBA Case Competition.

George Washington’s School of Business and Public Management and KPMG Peat Marwick sponsored the April 13-14 competition in Washington, D.C. The competition required teams of MBA students to develop a strategic marketing plan for spurring economic development in Washington, D.C.

The Wake Forest team competed against students from eight other MBA schools: American University, Case Western Reserve University, Georgetown University, George Washington, Howard University, Kenan Flagler School of Business, Virginia Tech, and the University of Maryland.

Wake Forest team members were: Bethany Beatty of Tallahassee, Fla.; Kristen Helms of Media, Penn.; Dave Lee of Parkersburg, W.Va.; and Nick McKoy of Nyack, N.Y.
