Wake Forest freshmen arrive on campus

This year’s freshman class is expected to total 1,035 students. They will move into their residence halls throughout the day beginning at 8 a.m.

Sophomores, juniors and seniors move into their rooms on Aug. 26 and 27. A final count of the entire undergraduate student body is not available at this time.

Classes for all undergraduate students will begin on Aug. 30.

This year’s freshman class is comprised of 536 women and 499 men coming to Wake Forest from 39 states and eight foreign countries. Nearly all freshmen-1,018-will live on campus. Twelve percent of the entering class are minorities, including 7 percent who are African-American. In high school, 41 percent graduated in the top 5 percent of their graduating classes.

Also on the Reynolda Campus, 161 students are entering the Wake Forest School of Law this year. With the new class, total enrollment for the law school is about 470 students. Law classes begin Aug. 21.

There are 113 full-time students entering their first year in Wake Forest’s Babcock Graduate School of Management. Classes begin Aug. 21. In addition, there are 50 first-year students in the Babcock School’s evening MBA program, 50 in the executive program and 48 in the Charlotte-based evening program. The total enrollment figure for the Babcock School is estimated at 660 students.

Classes begin on Aug. 30 for 116 new students enrolling in Wake Forest’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. The total enrollment for the graduate school is about 395.

The Wake Forest Divinity School has 26 new full-time students this fall from a variety of denominational traditions. The school, which opened in fall 1999, will have a total enrollment of 49 this year. Orientation for the Divinity School is from Aug. 23 to Sept. 2. Classes start Aug. 30.
