WFU Year of Ethics and Honor spring calendar of events updated

Editor’s note: Some of the times and locations for these events have been changed since our original January release. Please use this updated information in your community calendars. Feb. 21
Arlene Hutton’s one-act drama, “I Dream Before I Take the Stand,” will be performed by Cynthia Gendrich, assistant professor of theater at Wake Forest, and D.A. Oldis, a local actor, at 4 p.m. in the Ring Theatre inside Scales Fine Arts Center.

March 1
Wake Forest President Thomas K. Hearn Jr. will lead, “Moral Outlook in the Poetry of Robert Frost,” at 4 p.m. in Benson University Center, Room 407.

March 4
Film series: “Raise the Red Lantern,” 8 p.m., Worrell Professional Center, Room 308. Mary Dalton, assistant professor of communication at Wake Forest, will lead the discussion after the film. This event was originally scheduled for March 3.

March 6
Patricia Williams, professor of law at Columbia University, will speak about ethics, law and race at 4 p.m. in Benson Center’s Pugh Auditorium.

March 8
Mark Frankel of the American Association for the Advancement of Science lectures on scientific freedom and responsibility. This event will be held at the Wake Forest School of Medicine’s Nutrition Education Wing at 12:30 p.m.

March 20, 27
Robert Audi, professor of philosophy at the University of Nebraska, will present the A.C. Reid lectures on Human Diversity and Moral Values at 4:30 p.m. in Tribble Hall, Room B-316.

March 22
Wake Forest President Thomas K. Hearn Jr. will lead a discussion on ethics and honor with students. Jim Rachels, a professor of philosophy at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, will also participate. This event will be held at 4 p.m. in Benson Center, Room 401-A.

March 27
Dr. Edmond Pelligrino, professor of medicine and medical ethics at Georgetown University, will speak about the role of faith in medical ethics at 4:30 p.m. in the School of Medicine’s Babcock Auditorium.

April 2
“Homosexuality and Christian Ethics: Two Points of View,” led by Tony and Peggy Campolo, sponsored by the University Chaplain’s office. This event will take place at 4 p.m. in Brendle Recital Hall inside the Scales Fine Arts Center.

April 8
Film series: “Bicycle Thief,” 8 p.m., Worrell Professional Center, Room 308. Antonio Vitti, professor of Romance languages at Wake Forest, will lead the discussion following the film.

April 10, 17
Robert Audi of the University of Nebraska will return to deliver the second set of A.C. Reid Lectures on Human Diversity and Moral values. These events will be held at 4:30 p.m. in Tribble Hall, Room B-316.
