Making sense of new financial aid rules

Director of Financial Aid Bill Wells will be on NPR’s Diane Rehm Show on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until noon to talk about changes in student loan programs. As part of the healthcare legislation, the federal government will directly issue student loans, eliminating private lenders as middlemen.

Smith hits game-winning shot at buzzer

Senior Ish Smith hit a jump shot with one second left, as Wake Forest came back from eight points down in overtime to defeat Texas, 81-80, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Deacons advance to face top-seeded Kentucky on Saturday at 8:15 p.m.

The women’s basketball team will take on North Carolina A&T in the opening round of the Women’s National Invitation Tournament on Thursday at 7 p.m. in Reynolds Gymnasium.
