Local elementary students battle for culinary perfection

Fifth graders at Cook Literacy Model School in Winston-Salem are preparing to bring their culinary best during the Kids Cooking Coalition Competition on Wednesday, April 26 from 4-5:30 p.m. in the school’s cafeteria Local celebrity chefs will judge the cook-off.

WFU students meet critical public health needs

Public Health AmeriCorps grew out of the immediate response to the pandemic. It’s a historic partnership between AmeriCorps and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Wake Forest University was selected to be part of the first wave of nationwide grantees. It’s one of two North Carolina-based higher education institutions in the inaugural cohort.


WFU to introduce middle and high schoolers to careers in statistics and data science  

Middle and high school students can discover opportunities for careers in statistics and data science during a free one-day event at Wake Forest University on April 22. Called Florence Nightingale Day, the event will take place April 22 from 1-4:30 p.m. in Manchester Hall. The goal of the program is to engage kids, promote future career opportunities, and celebrate the contributions of women to these fields.
