Wake Forest finishes as runner-up in national title

After 110 scoreless minutes, the Wake Forest men's soccer team came up a penalty kick short of the national championship, falling to Stanford, 5-4, in penalties in Houston on Sunday afternoon. WFU's Ian Harkes was named the Most Outstanding Offensive Player of the College Cup.

Harkes' goal sends WFU to national championship game

Ian Harkes netted a breakaway goal in the 103rd minute to lift second-ranked Wake Forest men's soccer to a 2-1 victory in double overtime over Denver on Friday night to move on to the national championship game on Sunday in Houston.

Wake Forest to face Temple in Military Bowl

Wake Forest will play Temple in the Military Bowl, presented by Northrop Grumman and benefiting the USO. The game will kick off at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 27, at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Md. The game will be televised by ESPN.


WFU wins ACC men's soccer title

Second-ranked Wake Forest men's soccer beat No. 3 Clemson 3-1 to win the 2016 ACC Tournament championship. Ian Harkes, Jacori Hayes and Steven Echevarria each scored. The team can be welcomed back at the Manchester Athletic Center around 9:45 p.m. Check Twitter (@WakeMSoccer) for updates.
