Kenneth Kaunda, former president of Zambia and president of the Kaunda Children of Africa Foundation, will speak at Wake Forest University at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 26.
Kaunda will discuss “Africa, a Continent Devastated by AIDS-and the Effects on its Children” in Carwell Hall’s second floor reading room.
The Kaunda Children of Africa Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization focused on providing assistance to Africa’s needy children, promoting AIDS awareness in Africa and initiating educational programs to help break the poverty/AIDS cycle.
Kaunda was the president of the Republic of Zambia from 1964-1991.
The event, sponsored by Wake Forest’s Center for International Studies, is free and open to the public. A reception will follow. For more information, call 336-758-5938.
