Media arrangements for WFU commencement

Members of the media are invited to attend Wake Forest University’s commencement ceremony May 16, featuring golf legend and Wake Forest alumnus Arnold Palmer as speaker. The outdoor ceremony will begin at 9 a.m. on Thomas K. Hearn Jr. Plaza (the Quad).

The event is not open to the public, and commencement parking passes are required to enter campus. The News Service will mail parking passes and lanyard media passes to members of the media who have requested credentials prior to commencement day. To ensure access to campus for your staff, contact the News Service no later than May 10.

Reserved media-only parking will be in Parking Lot B, located between Taylor and Davis residence halls on the Reynolda Road (west) side of campus. Overflow media parking will be on the adjacent Davis Field. The parking pass and lanyard media pass issued by the News Service as well as a media credential from your organization will be required for entry into this parking lot. Members of the media are encouraged to enter the Quad through the access point from Parking Lot B. The lanyard media passes and credentials should be displayed at all times during the ceremony.

Early morning television crews may arrive as early as 5 a.m. All other members of the media are encouraged to allow plenty of time to park and set up on the Quad. Reserved media seating will be in the front row on the right side facing the stage. Direct audio feeds will be provided.

In case of rain, the commencement ceremony will be moved to Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum and begin at 9:30 a.m. Media will be notified by early morning May 16 if the rain plan is put into effect. More information regarding media arrangements for the coliseum will be distributed as needed.
