FBI ‘Profiler’ to provide insider’s view of hunting serial killers

ohn Douglas, the FBI agent who was the model for the character played by Scott Glenn in the movie, “Silence of the Lambs,” will speak at Wake Forest University on Feb. 20.

An expert on serial killers, Douglas will provide an inside look at high-profile criminal cases in an 8 p.m. talk at Benson University Center’s Pugh Auditorium.

Douglas is the author of the bestsellers “Obsession,” “Mind Hunter,” and “Unabomber: On the Trail of America’s Most Wanted Serial Killer.” He has headed the FBI’s pioneering Investigative Support Unit and hunted some of the most notorious criminals in recent times, including Seattle’s Green River killer and the Tylenol poisoner. He has also interviewed and studied dozens of serial killers and assassins such as Charles Manson, Sirhan Sirhan, John Wayne Gacy, David Berkowitz and James Earl Ray.
