Wake Forest University has named Brandon Gilliland senior vice president for finance and administration, effective January 1. Gilliland returns to Wake Forest after serving for the past six years as vice president and chief financial officer at the University of Miami.

On Sunday, Nov. 12, President Susan Wente presented the Inaugural Maya Angelou Artist-in-Residence Award to Hollywood Walk of Fame Star Debbie Allen in Wait Chapel.

Alton B. Pollard III will join the faculty of Wake Forest University as the James and Marilyn Dunn Chair in Baptist Studies in the School of Divinity and University Professor of African American Studies in the College of Arts and Sciences beginning July 1, 2024.

In a significant step toward developing new treatments to mend blood vessels damaged by heart attacks and strokes, scientists at Wake Forest University and University of Maryland have discovered how to amplify the effects of an important signaling molecule in the blood. The study published today in the peer-reviewed journal Nature Chemical Biology.
