Bulldog Reporter has awarded bronze to Wake Forest University for “Best Online Newsroom of the Year” in the 2016 Bulldog Digital/Social PR Awards program.

“We are pleased for this national recognition of our online newsroom, which aims to make telling Wake Forest stories a positive experience for journalists by providing them as much content, access and support as possible,” said Katie Neal, executive director, news and communications. “It is rewarding and gratifying for news.wfu.edu to be recognized as a best-in-class model.”

Wake Forest was only one of two recipients in this category. Ketchum, a leading global public relations and marketing agency, also won a bronze award on behalf of a client. Scoring for Bulldog Awards is based on creativity and originality, strategic and tactical brilliance, breakthrough communications approaches and results of all efforts. Winners are awarded gold, silver or bronze awards. There were no gold or silver awards in “Best Online Newsroom of the Year.”

Each submission was judged by working and award-winning journalists, including a Pulitzer Prize winner. This year’s judges represented a number of different media outlets including The Washington Post, USA Today and The Oregonian.
