WFU to welcome Class of 2029 this week

Wake Forest University will welcome more than 1,500 first-year students on Wednesday, Aug. 20.

The Class of 2029–most of whom were born the same year the iPhone debuted and the Harry Potter book series concluded–includes students from 45 states and the District of Columbia. Twenty-two countries are represented.

Classes for the fall semester begin Monday, Aug. 25.

Media are invited to campus from 8 to 11 a.m. Wednesday to cover first-year students and their families as they move into residence halls, greeted by faculty, staff and the Demon Deacon. New students first check in at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum and then proceed to campus to move into residence halls. Photography and video are not permitted inside the residence halls.

Two reserved media parking spaces are available in Lot G, near Bostwick Residence. Here is a link to a map of Reynolda campus. Contact media@wfu.edu for additional information about parking at LJVM.
