Americans are more divided along party lines than ever, according to a new Pew Research Center study. It’s no wonder college campuses across the country are at the center of so much political unrest. At Wake Forest, faculty are making conscious efforts to help students get comfortable with a healthy degree of conflict as part of their academic and personal growth.

Thanks to a $900,000 award from the National Science Foundation, Wake Forest University researchers are examining how plant hormone ethylene affects growth and development of the roots of Arabidopsis thaliana, which is a genetic model used to provide insight into other plants.

Wake Forest University’s Office of the Chaplain will host "The Prayers of the People: Praying with Our Feet” in response to the mass shooting in Las Vegas, the aftermath of Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria, and other unsettling events happening around the world.

Wake Forest junior Smiti Kaul, a double major in computer science and mathematics, has received the Grace Hopper Conference scholarship and will be attending the world’s largest gathering of women technologists.

Hundreds of Wake Forest students, faculty, staff and friends of the University will run laps around Hearn Plaza on Thursday, Sept. 28, for ‘Hit the Bricks.’ The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
