The ‘Power of Curiosity’ to be the focus of TEDxWakeForestU
Wake Forest University will host TEDxWakeForestU, an independently organized event licensed by TED, on Saturday, Feb. 18 from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. in Wait Chapel. Author and social justice scholar Monique Morris will deliver the 2017 Anna Julia Cooper lecture at Wake Forest University on Tuesday, February 21 at 6 p.m. at the Porter Byrum Welcome Center. Morris’ research intersects race, gender, education, and justice to explore the ways in which black communities, and other communities of color, are uniquely affected by social policies.
Each year, Wake Forest University and Winston-Salem State University collaborate to host a major celebration to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The theme of this year’s program is “On Common Ground: A Dream Deferred.”
The documentary film, “The State of Eugenics,” will be screened at Wake Forest University on Thursday, Jan. 12 at 5 p.m. in Porter Byrum Welcome Center. The event is free and open to the public.

This year, Wake Forest University will hold two Lovefeast services in Wait Chapel on Sunday, December 4. The first will be held at 4:30 p.m. and the second at 8 p.m.
Wake Forest University students, faculty and staff will prepare and deliver more than 300 Thanksgiving meals to food-insecure Winston-Salem residents during TurkeyPalooza. This is an annual event hosted by The Campus Kitchen at Wake Forest.
Tracy Clayton of BuzzFeed's Another Round will host a live show and recording full of laughs, special guest appearances and all manner of fun at Wake Forest University on Nov. 17 at 8 p.m. The event will be held at the Porter Byrum Welcome Center. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free, but tickets are required. Tickets can be reserved online.
A new event to highlight and bring attention to the refugee experience – Wake Refugee Day: Unity in Diversity – will take place Saturday, Nov. 12 from 1:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Brendle Recital Hall and lobby area of Scales Fine Arts Center.
