Joseph McCalmon, Ashley Peake and Samuel Schwartz have been named 2021 Barry S. Goldwater Scholars. Wake Forest senior Savarni Sanka has been named a Rhodes Scholar. Sanka, who is from Raleigh, N.C., plans to pursue a masters in public policy and masters of science in refugee and forced migration studies.

Hannah Scanlon, a junior mathematics major from Raleigh, N.C., has been named a 2020 Barry S. Goldwater Scholar.
