Wake Forest pledges support for entrepreneurship in Winston-Salem

The Winston-Salem skyline reflected in a window of the Wake Downtown building In an unprecedented and historic demonstration of solidarity, Wake Forest joined leaders from five other Winston-Salem-based colleges and universities — each pledging to incentivize entrepreneurship among their students and alumni through a series of programs based on their areas of focus and unique visions.

WFU to toast the life and legacy of alumnus Arnold Palmer April 6

Arnold Palmer riding the motorcycle with the Demon Deacon Wake Forest University students, faculty and staff will toast alumnus and legendary golfer Arnold Palmer to coincide with the first day of the Masters Tournament. The student-run Traditions Council, men's and women's golf teams and other members of the campus community will enjoy signature “Arnold Palmer” drinks of iced tea and lemonade, honoring the alumnus who died Sept. 25.

Sports writer Robert Lipsyte to visit 8th grade literacy program

Robert Lipsyte Author and nationally known sports journalist Robert Lipsyte will talk about "The Contender" with a group of 8th graders who are reading his book in an after-school sports literacy program at Paisley IB Magnet School. The program is led by Wake Forest University education professor Alan Brown and Wake Forest football student-athlete Wendell Dunn.
